Families of Special Needs Children
At Special Champions, we are dedicated to supporting individuals through our various initiatives. We plan to help as many families as possible. It doesn’t matter what the disabling condition is, if you can provide us with a reason to help we will.
* Food * Rent * Utilities * Mortgage payments assistance * Clothing * Medical bills * Respite care * Prescriptions * In-home health care * Medical supplies and specialty equipment
With our mission always in mind, we work tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals and families that are suffering and carry a burden too big for themselves. Our housing initiative is one that we believe will help some of the families and individuals we cater to and lift one of the many burdens they face.
The video on the left has some good information on one part of our housing initiative.
What We Hope
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need all over the country.
We hope to make an impact in the lives of special needs children and their families and also disabled veterans and their families by helping to lift some of burdens they endure. Lastly we hope that you will join us in this mission and donate to help make these things possible.
In the works here at Special Champions Organization is a program called Community Housing Development and Non-Emergency Medical Transport services.
Why Community Housing Development? Communities, brings us together and there’s a Special Needs community where living among their peers and friends allows them to establish their own independence with those just like them.
As a mother of an adult with special needs, I often ask myself the question? WHAT will happen to Jasmine, when I pass away? Where will she go? Who will take care of her and look out for her?
I think of other families with young adult children and know of several who ask the same questions every day. What happens now that they have graduated high school? What resources are available? SAFETY, SECURITY and WELL-BEING is what consumes a lot of our thoughts. But rather than worry anymore, I decide that doing is better than worrying. I know that I LOVE my daughter and that if I want the best for her, then I should provide that. I decided to build a residential resort (yes resort – not facility, because the term just doesn’t fit what I envision for my daughter) to enable her and others to continue to live their best lives, even after we are gone. But not just any resort. Research has been done and we will build GREEN, ENERGY EFFICIENT, homes that provide a better quality of life, walking trails and fitness center, educational learning center, nutritional eating center, and more. We have our builders and once all of our plans are designed and approved we intend to break ground on a fascinating resort that they can call home.
I strongly believe the same applies to our disabled veterans, being that I am one myself, I get it. And often more times than none; the failure to meet the needs of the ones who met ours by protecting, honoring and serving our country; who went into active duty young, vibrant, healthy, both limbs etc. come home to a life where they need adaptive housing, medical services, transportation services, counseling etc, but aren’t able to get it and when they do its many years down the road that their lives have diminished even farther. I want to be the one who says WE CARE, THANK YOU for your service. YOU deserve better. Because you took care of me, let us help to take care of you. We will break ground on Affordable Multi-family housing that meets and or exceeds ADA standards. COMING IN 2020!
Lastly we here at Special Champions are working on NEMT – Non Emergency Medical Transportation for both groups. That is pictured above. COMING IN 2019!
It doesn’t matter what the disability, what matters is the quality of lives that we provide for those with disabilities.
